Google increases AdSense channels to 500 (beta)

by Stephen on February 17, 2009

I have just received an email from the Google AdSense team telling me that the amount of channels available in my account has been increased to 500.

The AdSense team says this is because I am currently using almost all of the previously allotted 200 channels and they are currently beta testing an increase in response to customer feedback – “The change is part of a limited beta test we’re conducting in response to publisher requests for additional reporting capabilities”.

Channels are a great way to monitor how different elements within a website are performing – from ad units to individual pages. If you run multiple or large websites and do a lot of testing it is possible to quickly use up the 200 channels. Having the capability to use up to 500 channels is a real boon.
